The Byron Family
Greetings! I am Rev. James
Byron. I am a missionary pastor to Mannheim, Germany. I have been called
by the Freie Baptisten Gemeinde (FBG) to co-labor with them in the
establishing of churches in the Mannheim area.
I became a Christian
in Mannheim in 1988. I was discipled at the FBG and began a life long
relationship with them. Returning to Baltimore, MD in 1989 I was married
to Theresa Rainer and we spent 3 years ministering together at Grace
Church of Baltimore. We left for Newhall, California in May 1992 to
graduate from the Master's College and enter the ministry. Having finished
my BA in Christian Ministries, we settled down to run a family business
and build a house. We spent our lives ministering at Grace Community
Church and EV Free Church of the Canyons.
In 1999 I was asked to
work on the construction of the FBG building. It was during that trip that
the elders asked me to come to Mannheim to work together planting sister
churches in the Mannheim area. After a survey trip with my family in
January 2000, we decided this would be our life's work. We completed and
sold our house, sold our business and moved to Maryland in 2002.
We
are missionaries to Mannheim Germany with Global Outreach Mission. We
spent 2 years on deputation and moved to Mannheim in June of 2005. I was
ordained in the Baptist church in May 2003.
Hello! I am Theresa Byron. I
am the mother of five children. I homeschool my 4 oldest
children.
In 1989 I was born again from a Catholic past. I trusted
Christ as my savior through the witness of my husband and the leading of a
pastor at Grace Church. I am a Registered Nurse from the St. Joseph's
School of Nursing since 1985 but I have chosen the more rewarding road of
managing the home and raising our children.
We spent 10 years in
California where our adult lives blossomed. I was able to be in a
leadership role at Church of the Canyons which helped me to prepare for
our work in Germany. I hope to be a model for those I minister to both to
the young wives and to the mothers of small children. Together we hope to
reach Mannheim with the Gospel of Jesus Christ.
